El Nido past and present

El Nido past and present
El Nido
As delegates of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2016, we were given the opportunity to participate in post-tour to one of the 10 tourist destinations in the Philippines by paying only USD 150 all in for 4 days 3 nights package. Funnily enough, I've been to 10 destinations that was so doyannya traveling in the Philippines. So I chose to go to El Nido for a small group, only 15 people specialized media - in other destinations group of 40-60 people and mingle with the buyers and sellers. In addition, the itinerary of his "I really love", just island hopping and swimming. Clearly if the package is calculated, the value of El Nido's most expensive compared to other destinations-9.

The first time I was to El Nido in 2004 bekpekingan with the Nina and Jade. We stayed at inns in El Nido Town foul and joint renting boats for island hopping with Christian from Australia. Never thought 12 years later I returned with luxury style along with international journalists!

I know that there is now a direct flight from Manila direct that only an hour, so do not have to fly to Puerto Princesa and 6-hour jeepney ride again. Arriving at El Nido Airport was already no becak (tricycle) again who shared the runway with the aircraft, now replaced by jeepney. Airport building now is not a garage anymore, but 2 big house but still made of wood and non-AC, unfortunately hammock somebody had replaced with a permanent seat.

We stay at Lagen Island Resort is located at the end Lagen Island filled with dense forests and flanked by limestone cliffs, about a 45-minute boat ride from El Nido is located in the northern part of mainland Palawan Island. The hotel is very eco friendly. So nyampe us directly in-briefing of nature conservation. We were given a brochure containing a variety of animals that can be found around El Nido. Each guest is required to fill out and signaled the animals what is encountered, the date and location, so that these animals still observed. We were also given special bags for trash, garbage either own or other people's garbage. In room cuman given a bottle of drinking water, the rest had to refill their own to minimize plastic waste. Because it nyempil, I asked if there was a well of fresh water. Turns out they distill water from the sea. Disposal has also been through the process of waste management was good.
Almost sunset in Lagen Island
Every day if not leyeh-leyeh at the resort, we were island hopping to most island of the 45 islands in Bacuit Bay is guided by a guide named Marlon. We kayaking in the Small Lagoon and Big Lagoon in the labyrinth cliffs of limestone, snorkeling in Bayog Beach and Miniloc Island along schooling fish giant trevally, caving in Codognon Cave, hiking in Snake Island, as well as lunch and swim in Entalula Island and Dibuluan Island. El Nido Islands is similar to Raja Ampat with a smaller scale, it is no wonder he is referred to as "the best beach and island destination in the Philippines".

Entalula Island
What difference does the region now and 12 years ago? You could say no. Everything still looks the same. The scenery is still spectacular, coral reefs remain healthy, the fish still many, the beaches are kept clean without litter. What is different is my favorite beach in Entalula Island. It used to be just an uninhabited island, now there is one restaurant - it was made eco friendly so it does not interfere with the view and cleanliness. Philippine marine transportation safety regulations was upheld - any passenger ship, any ship sebusuk, remains obliged to wear a life jacket. Ah, salute!

The most changes are the El Nido Town. Although views towards the sea remains cross-eyed, but now much more crowded, many cars, shops, hotels, restaurants, bars. I remember once there is just a small fishing village, the inn most models inns or homestays that are attached to the owner's home, restaurants cuman there are some - and even then we often dipelototin village youth as we presumed origin of Manila Pinay girls are arrogant because only talk English. So small, all know everyone, especially fellow tourists. Every night because there was no entertainment and telephone signals, fellow tourists each shuttle and hang out somewhere for partying.

From this trip, there is an interesting story. The delegation comprised of journalists from three Russians, three Turks, two Poles, one Portuguese, one Belgian, one Chinese, one Indonesian mine alone, and the two committees Philippines travel agent Intas and Tourism Promotions Board. So parnonya Philippine government, our party was escorted by two policemen! Frankly, this group is a group of the most bizarre media. All afraid of the sun, including a foreign tourist. Worse, all mutual ngegeng so rare conversation between us except the preamble, perhaps because their English is messed up. Though we always eat at the same table, but they broke away just so.

Be my ngegeng grandparents are 70 years old Portugal named Salvador. Among the group, he is the most professional journalists - always with a camcorder recording, photographing, and taking notes. Although the oldest, the grandfather was very cool to talk to, smart, speak English and Spanish fluently, sunbathing and swimming hooked my kayak. The body is still very fit, very good memory. Keren wrote so when he told me, "50 years ago I joined the war in Angola", or "40 years ago I to Beijing, people are still riding a bike". Funnily enough, even short-term memory impaired. How could again post a photo on Facebook, she asked, "Now we are again in what country?" Hehehe!

Last night me and grandparents watch the video of his homemade camcorder that also doubles as a projector. Angle is interesting, good quality, like a trip in a TV documentary. I asked, "Elo old as gini weve not tired of traveling mulu yes, let alone fly away in economy class?" The old man replied, "If I do not travel, I'd die."
